Getting To Know Angela harmon

Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I am married to the most Christ-like man I have ever met! We are proud parents to a daughter and two sons, but it gets even better than that: We are ecstatic about our 2 year old granddaughter and the “peanut”that just arrived. We’ve lived our entire lives in Upstate South Carolina; I can’t imagine a better place to call HOME.

What do you love most about the real estate industry?

I love seeing the emotional impact a home makes on people. It isn’t limited to “first-time buyers” ; we all find a certain peace in having a place that “just feels right” – a place that is our get-away from the world. Seeing that impact in clients’ lives is what drives me – it’s what fuels

What inspired you or led you to become a licensed real estate agent?

In a not-good way, my inspiration was the agent who sold me my first home (many, many years ago.) I found out so much AFTER I had purchased and felt betrayed by the lack of guidance in the process – and by the money I lost because she failed to educate me on my options. The best way to change something is to provide a better option – which is my goal for every individual I interact with. Educate. Advocate. Protect. Do each of these to the best of my ability.

What inspired you or led you to join our C Dan Joyner Family?

I was with a small brokerage, and working on-site as a new construction representative. The Developer of the property realized that I had the ability, attitude, and desire to take care of others, creating a successful career- but I lacked the resources. Being new to the industry, I wasn’t knowledgeable enough to know what was available. He recommended I consider C Dan Joyner REALTORS and after interviewing with then broker, Fritzi Barbour, I knew I had found the place that would both propel me forward in the industry AND ensure I had people in place to expand my knowledge, provide cutting-edge resources and ensure my business was always ethical.

What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

For lunch or dinner – there’s no place like HOME… but I LOVE a great breakfast. A few favorites are Stax in Greenville, Mama Penn’s in Anderson, Eggs Up in Clemson, and a crazy little hole-in-the-wall in my hometown (you gotta go WITH me if you want this one!)

How long have you lived or worked in the upstate of South Carolina?

My entire 49 years have been spent in Upstate South Carolina. My parents and siblings – as well as 2 of our 3 children – are all here as well!

Give me three attributes that best describe YOU?

Honest. Knowledgeable. Responsive. (pulled from many in my reviews – check them out in my testimonials! How humbling!)

What is your favorite movie of all time?

I don’t watch TV or movies – so, I guess LIFE is the best movie!

Do you have any advice that you consistently give to your clients?

ASK all the questions! I love them – and if anyone else involved doesn’t, fire them and find someone who loves what they do!

What is something that you dream of doing one day?

In my personal life – I’ve always wanted to pilot a Hot Air Balloon.
Within Real Estate, I want to be part of someone’s engagement story! A diamond hidden within the house we’re “going to see” (that the “propositioning person” has already got under contract!)

What would you consider to be your specialty?

People. Learning what drives them, what brings them peace – and how to find a home that encourages both.

What is one thing about the Upstate that you believe sets it apart over everywhere else?

It’s the only place I know of that is both a “Four Seasons” area (and boy, are they beautiful!) PLUS we’re wonderfully placed between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the East Coast beaches everyone loves!

Outside of a personal family member, is there anyone that you look up to more than anyone else and is considered by you to be an inspiration?

So many people could be listed here – depending on what it refers to. For life in general, probably my maternal grandmother. She had a less-than-desirable marriage, fought cancer for over 20 years, and raised at least one of her grandchildren – all while giving glory to God. They bought a recliner and placed it at the front of her church for her to use because even in her worst pain, she refused to miss service. I never heard her complain. Oh to have grace, faith, and strength like that!

Where would you like to be in your life in the next ten years?

Honestly? I am already there! I just hope to continue along this path; it’s perfect!

What is one thing that most people do not know about you?

I’m officially a “Robin Hood”, having “officially”split an arrow (must happen during an archery tournament) in my younger years!

Are there any places that you have visited that you would recommend for others to visit and enjoy?

I love the mountains – views of the Blue Ridge bring me peace. Soooo… I love a trip to Symmes Chapel (better known as “Pretty Place”, Chattooga Belle Farm, Table Rock State Park, and anywhere else that beautiful views are the norm and a great brunch spot is a “rock’s throw” away!

If you could be famous would you be an actor, a musician, a politician, a sports star or anything else you would wish to be?

I would hate being famous! None of the above! LOL

What is your favorite time of the year?

Fall; Crisp Cool evenings, Explosions of color on the trees – it’s just amazing!

What do you wish for your clients every time you begin to work with them?

To find a HOME that gives them a sense of peace (and HarmonY, of course!)

How do you work on being better everyday (Personal and business)?

Simply put – spend more time in the Bible. Even if you don’t believe the same as I do, you probably know there’s instruction in there that encourages me to be a better human!

Name one thing that sets you apart from other agents in the Upstate.

I don’t advertise. I’m the only agent I am aware of who only works by word of mouth; this means I MUST serve well to get the recommendation of my current clients.

What is your favorite social media platform?

I’m not active on any! I work by word of mouth =)

Finally, what makes a home a home to you?

My house is “home” first and foremost because it’s where my hubby is; additionally, our home gives me peace because it’s functionally organized, meaning I’ve created spaces that reduce stress in the lives of those within. Simple things like an organized “junk drawer” near the door to provide easy access to ink pens, keys, super glue, etc, the coffee nook that has everything from filters and coffee to mugs and the “how do you take your coffee” options – the Snack Pantry that ensures the family/guests can grab a snack even if the kitchen is in use and off limits. Minimalism and Organization are what give me peace.
