Getting To Know Rick Mashburn

Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I have two children. My daughter Blake is 4 years old, and my son, Landon, is 1. I have a beautiful wife named Meredith. We all enjoy spending our family time outdoors going on walks, rescuing animals, and playing soccer.

What do you love most about the real estate industry?

The personal freedom it has provided me.

What inspired you or led you to become a licensed real estate agent?

My grandmother was an agent for 40ish years and my mother has been an agent for more than 10. I rode all over Greenville as a child with my grandmother sticking signs in yards as she listed them for sale.

What inspired you or led you to join our C Dan Joyner Family?

Both my grandmother and my mother were a part of the C Dan Joyner Family, I wanted to follow in their footsteps and make it a three generation line within C Dan Joyner.

What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

Jianna, downtown Greenville. Maple Street Biscuit company in Five Forks, Stella’s Southern Brasserie off Woodruff Road.

How long have you lived or worked in the upstate of South Carolina?

I was born here but not raised here, my wife and I moved here 5 years ago when our first child was on the way.

What is the neatest event you have been to here in the upstate?

The craft beer festival that was inside of the flour field baseball stadium, so much fun and such a cool space.

Give me three attributes that best describe YOU?

Hard working, fast paced, genuine.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

Green Street Hooligans.

Do you have any advice that you consistently give to your clients?

Don’t worry, thats what I’m here for.

What is something that you dream of doing one day?

Going to Europe and attending tons of professional soccer games.

What would you consider to be your specialty?

Digital Marketing to showcase listings and negotiating.

What is one thing about the Upstate that you believe sets it apart over everywhere else?

The culture, you would be hard pressed to find genuine, good people like this elsewhere in the country.

Outside of a personal family member, is there anyone that you look up to more than anyone else and is considered by you to be an inspiration?

Wayne Rooney, former forward for Manchester United, now coach for professional club Derby County. He was never the largest, never the fastest, never the best player…but he was never out worked or out hustled. He is a true leader of example who brings the best out of those around him.

Where would you like to be in your life in the next ten years?

I would like to have a very well established real estate business with my own team that are top producers.

What is one thing that most people do not know about you?

I am really good at skateboarding.

Are there any places that you have visited that you would recommend for others to visit and enjoy?

Park City, Utah. Beautiful destination packed with fun things to do.

If you could be famous would you be an actor, a musician, a politician, a sports star or anything else you would wish to be?

Professional soccer coach.

What is your favorite time of the year?

Fall

What do you wish for your clients every time you begin to work with them?

A smooth experience.

How do you work on being better everyday (Personal and business)?

I listen to podcasts that help me grow via business strategy and marketing daily. I work out daily to be a stronger/faster/more capable version of myself.

Name one thing that sets you apart from other agents in the Upstate.

I can deadlift 450 pounds and kickflip a skateboard.

What is your favorite social media platform?

Tiktok.

The memories that are made or will be made inside.
