Getting To Know Sharon Calhoun

Please tell us a little bit about your family.

1 Husband; 3 sons; 6 grandchildren

What do you love most about the real estate industry?

Meeting new people and the diversity of my business

What inspired you or led you to become a licensed real estate agent?

I knew Donna Smith prior to her leaving Cothran Sims Barker – I heard and saw the excitement she had when Dan Joyner asked her to work with him. I thought, I don’t think I’ve ever been that excited about a new job. I had questions for her and she was gracious enough to spend some time with me talking about the industry and giving me sound advice.

What inspired you or led you to join our C Dan Joyner Family?

Again, Donna Smith. She advised me to work the Greer area since I grew up here. I spoke with Dohn Bower, the Broker at the Greer office, prior to getting my license and everything else just fell into place.

What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

For good fish I like Great Bay Oyster House. Although I don’t eat oysters, I love everything else they For fine dining, I’d choose The Strip Club 104 (it’s a steak house!) or go a little further down Hwy 29 to the Open Hearth.

All my life.

What is the neatest event you have been to here in the upstate?

There are so many! I love, love, love Christmas Parades. In the summer there are so many things to do in downtown Greer and Greenville.

What is one thing about the Upstate that you believe sets it apart over everywhere else?

The whole atmosphere……friendly people, great climate, beautiful scenery, etcModerate well defined seasons, plenty to do outdoors, friendly people and Downtown Greenville’s charm.

Outside of a personal family member, is there anyone that you look up to more than anyone else and is considered by you to be an inspiration?

My pastor….a lady who mixes family and profession exceptionally well. She’s very small, but when needed, she’s a little stick of dynamite and always there to help when needed.

Where would you like to be in your life in the next ten years?

On a island in a lounge chair with an umbrella drink in my hand! Seriously, I’ll probably be retired and hopefully traveling with the hubby!
